Carolyn Holder Milton

Mrs. Carolyn Holder Milton age 80, of Lithia Springs, GA, passed away on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Northside Hospital Cherokee County, GA.

Mrs. Milton was born on February 25, 1945, in Porterdale, GA, to her parents, the late Mr. Render Holder and the late Mrs. Leila Velma Cook. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Donald Eugene Milton and 5 siblings.

Mrs. Milton worked for many years as an executive administrative assistant for Empire distributors. She also lived in Boston Mass. And Cape Coco Beach, FL., where she held positions at NASA and MIT. When she moved to Atlanta she obtained a job for Emory University Hospital and met her husband. Together they settled in Douglas County, Ga. where they raised their family.

She was a very loving and caring person, who loved her family immensely and loved spending time with them.  She was very eccentric and resilient in nature, enjoyed gardening and traveling. She always could be found working on a crossword puzzle or reading her newspapers. After her husband passed, she found her significant other Larry “Bulldog” Smith and with whom she would enjoy traveling and walking on the Silver Comet trail with until their health did not allow.

Mrs. Milton will be dearly missed by her many friends and loved ones.

She is survived by her children; daughter Leila Milton fiancé Brady Hays, and son; Jason Milton(Nina), stepdaughter, Lorrie Lanfair and stepson, Ronnie Milton, her significant other; Larry “Bulldog” Smith, grandchildren, Lauren Watkins (Travis), Mitchell Thompson (Erin), Zane Cox, Julia Milton, Andrew Henderson, Zachary Henderson, Jacob Milton, Joseph Milton, Lilliana Milton, Carl, Nicole, Katie and Robert great grandchildren, Leland Watkins, Maddox Watkins, Lily Mooneyham, Linkyn Thompson and Avery Thompson, Cole, Teigan, Jordan, Ben, Aurora, Molly, Horacio and Declan. Many nieces, nephews, other friends, and relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Roy Davis Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Rory officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mozley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Lithia Springs, Ga.

Mrs. Milton’s family will be receiving friends on Wednesday March 26, 2025, from 5-7 PM.
