Carl Albert Brooks

Carl Albert Brooks, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2019 He was born in Atlanta on December 9, 1957 to Jessie and Dorcas Brooks. Carl is survived by his wife Leila Brooks. His children: Angela Hamby, CarlaHamby Pennyman (Gary), Jessie Brooks (Dalaina) and Brian Brooks, Step children Tammy Caldwell (Harold), Carolyn Scruggs, Jerry Wright Jr (Mandy). James Wright (Angie) and Michelle Haynes. His brothers: Tony Alonso (Gayla), Steve Alonso (Pat). Carl also had twenty-three grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, along with several nieces and nephews. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Jamie Alonso and a stepson Danny Scruggs. He was a hard worker, loved his “Blue boys” and loved to fish. He liked George Jones, Hootie and the Blowfish, Darius Rucker, and Best of All "Bobby Rush". To know him was to love him! He had an outstanding sense of humor. His biggest pride and joy was watching his granddaughter play basketball in high school, Wake Forest College and the WNBA. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
