Beulah Barnes

Beulah Barnes was born on October 4, 1926 in Franklin County, NC to the parents of Theodore and Bessie Coppedge the second of 3 children. Beulah was baptized at the early age of 16 at St. Paul's Baptist Church in Montclair, NJ.

Beulah graduated as a licensed practical nurse in 1953 from the Hospital for Joint Diseases. Beulah retired from Waterview Nursing Care center, College Point, NY after nearly 30 years of dedicated service. Beulah had 2 daughters, Geraldine and Kathleen prior to meeting her future husband, the late Aaron Barnes. They remained married for 60+ years. From that marriage they had 3 children, Gloria, Lois and Aaron Jr.

Beulah loved her family and was always available to support them in good and bad times. She loved listening to Christian and gospel music. She enjoyed cooking for family during the holidays and enjoyed the family gatherings. After the passing of her beloved husband, Beulah relocated to Mableton, Georgia, where she spent her last years being cared for by her devoted daughter, Lois, frequent visits from her daughter, Gloria and her niece Lori. Prior to her failing health, Beulah attended the Greater Fair Hill Baptist church where she made many new friends.

Beulah went home to God on Sunday, March 24, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron, her father and mother, Theodore and Bessie; daughter, Geraldine; sister, Louise Harris; brother, Curtis; grandchildren, Anthony and Keisha. She is survived by 3 daughters, Kathleen Coppedge, Gloria Barnes, Lois Barnes, 1 son Aaron Barnes, Jr. (Diane); 8 grandchildren, Tim Long (Christine), Donnell Long, Katrina Allen, Norma Coppedge (Coullious), Letisha Coppedge, Cherie Coppedge, Chantel Barbarise (Kenneth) and Christopher Lipscomb (Rebecca) and several great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends, "Loyal" niece, Lori Richardson, and special friends, Thomas and Gracie Jefferson, and Darryl Elmore.
