Betty Courson

Betty Courson, 86 of Decatur, passed away Friday, October 8, 2021. She was born in LaGrange, Georgia on March 8, 1935, the daughter of Ridley and Annie Folds. She is survived by her children, Robert (Anita) Courson of Mooresville, NC, Cathy (Tony) Whitfield of Trussville, AL, Michael (Mila) Courson of Gulf Shores, AL, and Scott Courson of Decatur; sister, Merlene Harmon of Chattanooga, TN; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 46 years, Archie Courson. Mrs. Courson was a resident of Villa Rica before moving to Decatur. She lived most of her life and raised her children in Mableton. She loved Jesus and was a member of Atlanta Baptist Temple for many years. She loved her kids and stayed involved with her family all her life. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, October 16, in the chapel of Roy Davis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until service time.
