Beatrice Moore Kimball died peacefully on February 16, 2011 at Presbyterian Village, Austell, GAwhere she has been a resident for the past2 ½ years.Bea, as she was affectionately called, was born in Paris, France on January 31, 1926 to Marie-Therese Bellivier and Lucien Watterson Moore.Her parents met during WWI, an American father and Parisian mother.When Bea was 15 the family was forced to flee France during the German invasion. The family settled in Chicago, IL where Bea was promptly enrolled at DePauw University, Greencastle, IN, at age 15.Bea joined Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority, enjoying that affiliation throughout her life. She met and married Pierre M. Kimball, Jr., of Parson, Kansas, in 1945 shortly after graduation.Bea received her Master’s Degree from Stanford University, Palo Alto, CA while Pierre attended law school there.The family settled in Atlanta in 1950 with their young son, Pierre M. Kimball III. Bea was a former member of Christ the King Parish and was a Pink Lady at Piedmont Hospital for many years.She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed tennis, traveling to the U.S. Open, the French Openand Wimbledon with her beloved sister, Jackie of Rome, N.Y. Bea is survived by her son, Pierre M. Kimball III and his wife, Judy, Dunwoody, GA and her son, Lucien M. Kimball and his wife, Ginger, Atlanta, GA.She also leaves behind her beloved grandsons, Pierre M. Kimball IV, Bo Kimball and Andrew Kimball.Also surviving is her sister, Jacqueline M. Baynes of Rome, N.Y. and many nieces and nephews. Her brother, Daniel G. Moore predeceased her.
