Audry Cassandra Austin

Audrey Cassandra Austin of Jacksonville, Florida transitioned to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 24, 2023. She was born in Greenwood, Mississippi on October 14, 1954, to the late L.Q. Austin and the late Helen Beatrice Bryant. Audrey is the eldest of five sisters whom she loved and cared for. At a very young age she accepted Christ into her life while attending St. Luther MB Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Charles E. Polk Sr. Audery began her college education at Jackson State University in Jackson. She later obtained her Associate of Arts degree in Funeral Service and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Human and Health Services from Florida State College of Jacksonville, in Jacksonville, Fl. She later became certified as a Funeral Director and embalmer. Audery served in the U.S. Army for over 12 years, she completed several tours including Egypt, Dessert Storm, Italy, Germany, and in the United States. While in the Army, she collaborated with personnel classification and reclassification assignments and utilization. She enlisted evaluation systems, promotions and reduction and automated personnel systems. Audrey was a valued member of the United State Army. Upon leaving the military, Audrey began to work for the VA system in Atlanta, Ga. She was later given an opportunity to work for the United States Postal Services. Audrey loved her family over everything. She also loved to laugh and cut up with everyone. She had many friends and was loved by many all over. Audrey had a huge personality and never met a stranger. Audrey has always been a breath of fresh air and will be missed beyond words. Audrey is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Beverly Ann Hawkins. Survivors; a son Joseph Lee Austin (LoJann Lorenzo) of Houston, Tx.; a daughter Lynann Robinson (Derrick) of Jacksonville, Fl.; her sisters Tracy Small (Leslie deceased) of McDonough, Ga., Kathy Miles (James) of Peachtree City Ga., and Joy Eubanks (Tedrel) of Winston, Ga., Six grandchildren; Jervonta Austin, Mykhia Austin, Jonathan Austin, Harrison B. Robinson, Haley A. Robinson, Jacobs and Joseph Lee Austin. Survivors also include a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives.
