Anita Taylor Thornton

Ms. Anita Taylor Thornton, age 73, of Lithia Springs, passed away on June 10, 2017. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia.She attended South Cobb High School and grew up in Mableton, Georgia. She loved flying and was very athletic-- playing softball and swimming.She loved spending time with her grandchildren.She enjoyed listening to thunderstorms and the rain.She was very good with children of all ages and was a very generous and loving person.Anita worked at AT&T for many years.Ms. Thornton is preceded in death by her parents, Jess Durmire and Agnes Allgood Durmire.She leaves to cherish her loving memory, daughter, Tracy Johnston; son, Scott (Peggy) Thornton; grandchildren, Taylor, Jesse, Steven, Sarah and Joseph; great-grandchild, Mason Graves, whom she adored; sister, Barbara Durmire (Jeff) Banks; brother, Tommie (Marie) Taylor; and many nieces and nephews who thought of her as a fun loving aunt. Following her cremation, no services are scheduled.
